Agostinho Neto awarded Mandela Prize

According to a statement from the Antonio Agostinho Neto Foundation, the award ceremony was held in Paris on February 25, 2017, in the presence of the foundation’s president, Maria Eugenia Neto.

With this posthumous recognition, the 2016 Mandela Prize highlights the audacity of Agostinho Neto, who continues to be a source of inspiration and guidance for the new generations in Angola and in the World.

The Mandela Peace Prize, which is chaired by Paul Kananura, is awarded by the Mandela Institute based in France to personalities or institutions that take initiative to foster peace within Africa.
