The association Citizen Action for Endogenous Development (ACDE) planted around fifty trees on Thursday in front of concessions that it identified in the Pazani district of Ouagadougou.
As part of its activity called ‘My green city’, the association Citizen Action for Endogenous Development (ACDE) planted 50 feet of trees in front of concessions that it identified in the Pazani district, in the district 9 of the city of Ouagadougou.
According to the president of the association, Abdoudramane Sawadogo, the ‘My green city’ initiative, supported by ACDE, aims to plant at least one tree in front of the door of each concession in the cities of Burkina Faso.
‘Maintenance of trees planted in large spaces is quite difficult. Despite the numerous reforestation campaigns, the results are less visible,’ declared the president of the ACDE association.
Based on this observation, continued Mr. Sawadogo, our association opted for local reforestation, that is to say which is carried out in front of homes to green Burkin
a Faso.
Concretely, ‘We speak with interested people who choose the tree, then we give them a tree maintenance grid before moving on to the actual planting,’ explained Mr. Sawadogo.
Citizen Action for Endogenous Development is an association created in 2023 with the aim of promoting endogenous development, according to the president of the organization.
For this first edition, only the mango tree and neem were selected as tree species for reforestation in the unique district of Pazani.
The organizers plan, during the next editions, to plant as many species as possible in all the cities of the country.
